Job Summary:

MCI is a leading manufacturer of motor coaches, and we are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our diverse fleet of buses, ensuring they operate at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostic and Repair: Diagnose and repair diesel engines and electric drivetrains, as well as perform drive line component maintenance, including transmissions and differentials.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and repair engine and body accessories, including HVAC systems and suspension components.
  • Inspections and Repairs: Conduct thorough inspections and repairs of braking systems and electrical systems.
  • Installations and Repairs: Perform installations and repairs of seating, steering components, and glass.
  • Problem-Solving: Investigate, identify, and report product issues, including with supplier components, and recommend course of action to solve problems with respective departments.
  • Testing and Training: Assist with controlled testing of components and installations as asked by Management, TSS or Engineering groups, and stay up to date with training on pertinent systems in our vehicle to perform top-level OEM support of any coach or vendor components.
  • Customer Service: Resolve customer problems or complaints effectively and in a timely manner for mutual customer and our company's benefit.

Requirements:

  • Technical Expertise: Experience with diesel engines, driveline components, electrical systems, and electric vehicle maintenance, as well as familiarity with diagnostic devices such as DDEC, ATEC readers, and equipment diagnostics.
  • Tool Proficiency: Proficiency with shop tools, diagnostic devices, and equipment for assembly and repairs.
  • Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel 50% of the time, with a valid passport required.
  • Safety and Precision: Strong understanding of safety practices and effective use of personal protective equipment.
