Job Summary:

MCI is a leading manufacturer of motor coaches, and we are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team. As a Field Service Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing our diverse fleet of buses, ensuring they operate at peak performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnostic and Repair: Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electric drivetrains, and other complex systems.
  • Component Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on drive line components, including transmissions and differentials.
  • Accessory Maintenance: Maintain and repair engine and body accessories, including HVAC systems and suspension components.
  • System Inspections: Conduct thorough inspections and repairs of braking systems and electrical systems.
  • Installation and Repair: Perform installations and repairs of seating, steering components, and glass.
  • Problem Investigation: Investigate, identify, and report product issues, including with supplier components.
  • Recommendations: Recommend course of action to solve problems with respective departments.
  • Testing and Training: Assist with controlled testing of components and installations as requested by Management, TSS, or Engineering groups.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Stay up to date with training on pertinent systems in our vehicles to perform top-level OEM support of any coach or vendor components.
  • Customer Support: Resolve customer problems or complaints effectively and in a timely manner for mutual customer and company benefit.

Requirements:

  • Technical Expertise: Experience with diesel engines, driveline components, electrical systems, and electric vehicle maintenance. Familiarity with diagnostic devices such as DDEC, ATEC readers, and equipment diagnostics (e.g., Cummins Insite, DDDL, Allison DOC, Wabco Toolbox, Bendix ACOM).
  • Tool Proficiency: Proficiency with shop tools, diagnostic devices, and equipment for assembly and repairs.
  • Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel 50% of the time, with a valid passport required.
  • Safety and Precision: Strong understanding of safety practices and effective use of personal protective equipment.
