As a Patent Agent, you will play a crucial role in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, primarily in relation to pharmaceutical, biochemical, or software/computer-related technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Draft and prosecute patent applications in the relevant technical area
  • Provide exceptional client service and manage client relationships
  • Stay up-to-date with Canadian patent practice and recent law changes
  • Collaborate with the team to coordinate worldwide prosecution of patent portfolios
  • Demonstrate a strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Requirements
  • Registered Canadian Patent Agent in good standing with the College of Patent Agents & Trademark Agents (CPATA)
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience drafting patent applications
  • Advanced degree in life sciences, chemistry, electrical engineering, computer sciences, or software engineering
  • Excellent knowledge of Canadian patent practice and recent law changes
