About the Opportunity:
The Department of Sociology at the University of Toronto invites applications for a full-time tenure stream appointment in the Sociology of Health and Mental Health. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pursue innovative and independent sociological research at the highest international level and establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
- Teach and mentor students in Sociology, with a focus on the Sociology of Health and Mental Health.
- Contribute to the department's research and teaching initiatives, and participate in departmental and faculty-wide service activities.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Sociology or a cognate program with a marked emphasis on social science and health.
- Demonstrated record of excellence in sociological research and teaching.
- Strong research and teaching statement, teaching dossier, and strong letters of reference.
