Assistant Professor Position in Environmental Chemistry and Health
Job Summary:The Department of Physical and Environmental Sciences at the University of Toronto Scarborough invites applications for a full-time tenure-stream position in environmental chemistry and health. The appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.
Responsibilities:- Pursue innovative and independent research in environmental chemistry and health
- Establish an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program
- Teach undergraduate courses in the Chemistry program in Department of Physical and Environmental Science
- Contribute to the graduate core course in environmental chemistry and actively participate in the graduate environmental chemistry program
- PhD degree in Chemistry or a closely related field by the time of appointment, or shortly thereafter
- Demonstrated record of excellence in research and teaching
- Expertise in environmental chemistry and in bioanalytical chemistry and/or biological chemistry
- Ability to build strong connections with the new Scarborough Academy of Medicine and Integrated Health (SAMIH)
- Experience in studying the interactions between chemical contaminants and cells, biomolecules (such as proteins) and/or target organisms using omics approaches, such as exposomics related to health
- Strong endorsements from referees of high standing

Applicants must also provide the name and contact information of three references.
