Job Title: Mental Health Intake Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health Intake Specialist to join our team at the Canadian Mental Health Association York Region and South Simcoe. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality mental health services to individuals and families in our community.

Job Summary:

The Mental Health Intake Specialist will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments, triaging clients to appropriate services, and providing service navigation and interim support to clients. You will work closely with our clinical team to ensure that clients receive the best possible care and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and triage clients to appropriate services
  • Provide service navigation and interim support to clients
  • Work closely with the clinical team to ensure high-quality care and support
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Registered Social Worker or Social Service Worker with a related diploma or Bachelor of Social Work
  • Full Member in good standing of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers
  • Three or more years of experience in a mental health setting, with a focus on mood and anxiety disorders
  • Excellent assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse populations
