The City of London is committed to creating a more inclusive and equitable community. As a key part of this effort, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced lawyer to join our team as a solicitor, counsel, and advisor. The successful candidate will have a strong background in municipal law and be able to provide expert advice on a wide range of legal matters, including civil litigation, municipal law enforcement, and real estate law. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degree and be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada. Fluency in French is an asset. This is a temporary, full-time position for up to two years. The standard hours of work are Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal advice and representation to the City of London in a variety of areas, including municipal law, real estate law, and civil litigation. The candidate will also be responsible for assisting more senior counsel and providing support to the City Solicitor's Office. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. **Key Responsibilities:**

* Provide legal advice and representation to the City of London in municipal law, real estate law, and civil litigation
* Assist more senior counsel and provide support to the City Solicitor's Office
* Conduct research and analyze legal issues
* Develop and implement legal strategies
* Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders

**Requirements:**

* Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor degree
* Member in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada
* Strong background in municipal law
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Fluency in French is an asset
