We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as an Indigenous Relations and Partnerships Specialist. In this role, you will play a key part in advancing Dalhousie University's commitment to reconciliation and its relationship with Indigenous peoples.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement strategies to advance Indigenous relations and partnerships, aligned with the university's Strategic Plan and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP)
- Build and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, organizations, and stakeholders to foster collaboration and mutual understanding
- Provide support and guidance to university staff and faculty on Indigenous relations and reconciliation initiatives
- Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and programs that promote Indigenous inclusion and reconciliation
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Indigenous studies, education, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Indigenous relations, community development, or a related field
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines
