Your Opportunity:
We are seeking a skilled Senior Planner/Scheduler to join our Program Management team. This role involves coordinating all aspects of the project schedule, including engineering, procurement, and construction activities. As a member of our team, you will work independently and with minimal direction, utilizing your technical knowledge and scheduling software skills to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the owner of the project schedule, coordinating inputs, reviews, and updates for a functional schedule.
- Participate in project teams, communicating schedule-related issues and opportunities. Prepare the project schedule in Primavera P6, including sequence and duration of activities, logic and floats, resource loading, and milestone identification. Ensure regular updates to the construction schedule, incorporating progress achieved and making changes to activity sequence and duration as needed. Review vendor, sub-consultant, and contractor schedule submittals and incorporate them into the project schedule. Identify critical path and communicate it to the project team and stakeholders. Identify divergences from the project plan, lost time, potential delays, and strategies for catching up or accelerating completion.
Qualifications:
- High proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6 and MS Project). Experience with large capital infrastructure projects, preferably in mass transit systems. Extensive technical knowledge of scheduling practices and strong familiarity with engineering design and construction practice. Ability to validate scheduling status with project team members and stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct, perform, review, and present status updates of scheduling projects. Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation. PMP Designation is highly preferable.
Education and Experience:
- Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 10 years' experience in a scheduling role. Construction experience is an asset.
