CASA Mental Health is seeking a skilled Mental Health Therapist to join our team in shaping a brighter future for children, youth, and families. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality, trauma-focused mental health therapies to children, teens, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with the CASA team and external supports to deliver effective mental health therapies.
- Help caregivers build specialized parenting skills to support children with exceptional needs.
- Formulate diagnoses using the DSM-5-TR and other diagnostic tools.
- Provide clinical input to Therapy Support Navigators for case management and wrap-around care.
- Conduct case management functions, including case conferences and liaison with CASA therapists and psychiatrists.
- Coordinate consultation with other therapists or external partners as needed.
- Provide supervision or preceptorship for student placements.
- Contribute to staff knowledge and understanding of discipline-specific issues.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in psychology, social work, or occupational therapy.
- Current registration in good standing with a professional college identified under the Health Professions Act.
- A minimum of two years of clinical practice in child and family mental health and/or youth addictions.
- Demonstrated ability to practice culturally-safe therapeutic interventions.
- Knowledge of and experience in supporting the healing of children and youth who have experienced trauma.
- Knowledge of and experience in bottom-up and top-down modalities is an asset.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Conditions of Employment:
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and Child Intervention Check.
- Ability to pass and maintain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification.
