Job Title: Family Support Specialist
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Youth Care Practitioner to support families, children, youth, and young adults who are experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Provide goal-focused services to families and individuals.
- Develop and implement goal-focused activities.
- Communicate with collaborative team members.
- Conduct case notes, reports, and other administrative tasks.
- Transport children/youth while providing services.
Requirements:
- Certificate, diploma, or degree in Child and Youth Care Practitioner from a recognized college or university.
- 2-5 years of experience providing services to children/youth and/or families with critical needs.
- Current Verbal De-escalation Certification and experience in crisis prevention.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of FASD, ODD, autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and other diagnoses.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and report-writing skills.
Working Conditions:
- Work between 15-25 hours per week based on client needs.
- Provide services during the week between 3:00pm-9:00pm, some weekend sessions, and occasionally daytime sessions during weekdays.
