Project Manager Job Description

At Smith + Andersen, we're seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead our mechanical project team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for overseeing the development of system engineering concepts, managing construction budgets, and ensuring the successful delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement project plans, including design briefs and concept reports.
  • Manage project budgets, including reviewing and approving expenses.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure project deliverables meet quality and timeline expectations.
  • Review and approve project documents, including reports, calculations, and drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
  • Act as contract administrator for designated projects, ensuring timely completion of contract administration activities.
  • Coordinate with contract administration team to ensure smooth project delivery.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of project engineering experience in mechanical building services.
  • P.Eng. or ability to qualify within 1 year.
  • Advanced knowledge of provincial building code, ASHRAE, CSA, and NFPA standards.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with consultants and contractors.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
