As a member of our Mine Planning Team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing mine plans that ensure the safe and efficient extraction of diamonds. Your expertise will be essential in creating 12-week integrated mine plans, 24-month rolling forecasts, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement mine plans that meet safety and production targets
  • Collaborate with the site team to prepare weekly plans and update 12-week plans
  • Design and optimize mine layouts, including waste dumps, stockpiles, and haul roads
  • Conduct drill and blast designs and create solutions for dilution control
  • Provide technical guidance to surveyors, mining technicians, and drill & blast engineers

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mining Engineering or related field
  • 4+ years of experience in open pit mining or project environment
  • Proficiency in relevant software programs, including MS Office Suite, AutoCAD, Deswik, and Vulcan
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
