Unreal FX Technical Artist Position

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada The Third Floor Full time

The Third Floor is a leading visualization company that produces computer-animated blueprints for clients worldwide. We are seeking an Unreal FX Technical Artist to join our Finals Animation team, utilizing Unreal Game Engine.

Key responsibilities include ingesting and look developing real-time VFX assets in Shots, integrating 2D FX/emitters, and supporting the FX, Lighting, and Comp departments with scene setup. The ideal candidate will have experience with Unreal, a solid understanding of Unreal's Niagara FX system, and familiarity with UE Materials and Material-based FX.

Essential skills include:

  • Experience with Unreal
  • Solid understanding of Unreal's Niagara FX system
  • Familiarity with UE Materials and Material-based FX
  • Familiarity with Movie Render Queue, particularly rendering AOVs for Nuke Compositing
  • Experience using third-party Unreal tools

Desirable skills and experience include:

  • Experience with Source Control (Perforce preferred)
  • Experience with Blueprints, particularly editor utility widgets
