Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to lead our construction division projects in the Bathurst area. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for effectively executing all construction projects, ensuring high standards of workmanship and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to understand project requirements
  • Take precise measurements and calculate material needs
  • Cut, shape, and smooth lumber and other materials according to specifications
  • Build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings using raw materials or pre-constructed items
  • Lay out flooring, roofing, or drywall, ensuring proper leveling and compatibility
  • Assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other items, and install them as designated
  • Inspect sites and conduct repairs or maintenance
  • Build scaffolding and other construction structures
  • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure timely project completion
  • Communicate daily schedules and project updates to internal personnel
  • Demonstrate expertise in company products and services
  • Ensure customer safety and provide necessary instructions before leaving the site
  • Participate in weekly safety meetings with the Project Manager

Qualifications

Education and Experience
  • College Diploma
  • Red Seal Carpenter Certification (preferred)
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a lead carpenter role
  • Construction experience in the disaster restoration industry (considered an asset)
Working Conditions

This position requires a moderate level of physical exertion and moderate intensity of sensory effort. There is a moderate risk of exposure to adverse working conditions. Working outside of normal hours may be occasionally required to deal with emergencies.
