Job Title: Technical Software Release Manager – IP and ASIC Product Expert
About the Role:
Alphawave Semi is seeking a highly skilled Technical Software Release Manager to join our team. As a Technical Software Release Manager, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the end-to-end release processes for software and firmware products related to semiconductor IP and ASIC development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define, manage, and execute the software release calendar, including major, minor, and patch releases.
- Work with cross-functional teams (development, QA, operations) to plan the scope and schedule for each release.
- Ensure that all release plans meet both customer and business requirements.
- Lead the coordination of software builds and releases across multiple teams.
- Manage dependencies across teams to ensure that each component is ready for deployment.
- Facilitate regular meetings to track release readiness, addressing issues as they arise.
- Ensure proper documentation for each release, including release notes, installation procedures, and test reports.
- Ensure that rigorous testing (unit, integration, regression) is performed before releases, either by defining, building or integrating tests into CI tooling.
- Oversee release readiness checks, ensuring that all code, features, and fixes meet the company's quality standards.
- Define new quality and release automations as needed to enhance team productivity.
Requirements:
- Understanding of software and firmware development processes.
- 5+ years of industry experience shipping software at large scale and high velocity.
- Hands-on experience using tools like Python, JavaScript, and other scripting languages for automation.
- Familiarity with semiconductor IP development and/or hardware-related software.
- Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, Bamboo, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of version control systems (Git, SVN, etc.).
