Job Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Cost Consultant to join our dynamic and innovative team in Toronto. As a key member of our Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals to drive the best value and opportunities for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support a major project in Toronto, leading a team to drive value and opportunities for the client.
  • Develop clear and concise monthly reports showcasing all aspects of the project, working with our reporting and scheduling teams.
  • Drive packages of work through from inception to completion, collaborating with our estimating team, procurement, and monitoring works on site.
  • Interface with clients and other consultants at all project stages, providing educated guidance and insight to drive improvement and efficiencies.
  • Assist in research related to construction market conditions in Canada, analyzing official published data.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and participate in ISO audits, assisting in feasibility studies and costings.
  • Assess and validate design, post-contract cost changes, and refer major changes to the line manager.
  • Contribute to value engineering and life cycle costing, assisting the Commission Manager in managing commissions to the right quality standards.
  • Support Associate Directors/Directors in developing new business opportunities with existing and new Turner & Townsend clients.
  • Ensure key information and learning generated is inputted into internal databases and shared.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant experience, including working on at least two major projects or programs.
  • A recognized post-secondary education certificate, diploma, or University Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Membership of relevant professional organizations, such as the Canadian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (CIQS) and/or The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS); and/or Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE).
  • Advanced knowledge of and experience using CostX is an asset but not essential.
