At Pomerleau, we're seeking a skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team on Vancouver Island. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the development and implementation of our health and safety program.

This role will play a crucial part in ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of health and safety, adhering to regulations and industry best practices. The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations, as well as experience with Certificate of Recognition (COR) and Safety Group (IHSA).

The ideal candidate will be able to manage and lead a team effectively, allocating resources to necessary projects while maintaining a dynamic and proactive approach. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite and online reporting software, are essential for this position.

About the Role
  • Develop and implement health and safety programs for multiple project sites throughout Vancouver Island.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with company-wide health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Lead and manage a team of health and safety professionals to ensure effective resource allocation and project success.

Requirements
  • 10+ years' experience in the construction industry and health and safety management on construction projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
  • A University Degree or College Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and/or Risk Management or a combination of education and industry experience.
  • Experience with Certificate of Recognition (COR) and Safety Group (IHSA).
  • Ability to manage and lead a team effectively, ensuring resources are allocated to necessary projects.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office Suite and online reporting software.
