Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Services Manager to join our team at Island Health.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline and seven years' relevant experience in public health services delivery and management.

A Master's degree in a health-related discipline is an asset.

The ideal candidate will possess broad knowledge of population and public health, including child, youth, and family health, communicable disease, immunization programs, and initiatives.

Strong leadership ability, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective public health programs and services that meet the needs of our communities.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to integrate administrative, professional, and operational aspects of the program.
  • Contribute to policy development at the Health Authority level.
  • Foster a culture of quality improvement and continuous learning within the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a health-related discipline.
  • Seven years' relevant experience in public health services delivery and management.
  • Master's degree in a health-related discipline is an asset.
  • Broad knowledge of population and public health.
  • Leadership ability and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency, including electronic staff schedules and office suite products.
