Lead the Way in River Restoration

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our team as the Executive Director of River Restoration. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in driving our mission to restore the Elizabeth River through equitable collaboration with diverse communities, businesses, and governments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a community-wide collaboration to restore the environmental health of the Elizabeth River
  • Develop and implement strategies to cultivate donor relations, secure large private and public gifts, and steward funds effectively
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to deploy our collaboration model and bring together conflicting interests
  • Foster a culture of equity, inclusivity, and environmental justice within our organization and among our partners
  • Support excellence in digital marketing and technology to communicate with and strengthen our constituency, fundraise, and advance our mission
Requirements
  • At least five years of experience at the executive level in leading a nonprofit organization or a comparable organization
  • Proven experience in fundraising, with a track record of securing large gifts from the private sector
  • High level of integrity, ability to find common ground, and keen interpersonal skills
  • Firm commitment to equity, inclusivity, and environmental justice, with experience implementing sound initiatives in these areas
  • Familiarity and experience in supporting excellence in digital marketing and technology
