Lead Our Efforts to Restore the Elizabeth River

We are seeking an exceptional leader to join our team as the Executive Director of River Restoration. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in leading our efforts to restore the Elizabeth River through equitable collaboration with diverse communities, businesses, and governments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategies to restore the environmental health of the Elizabeth River
  • Lead a community-wide collaboration to achieve our mission
  • Cultivate donor relations and secure large private and public gifts
  • Implement sound initiatives in equity, inclusivity, and environmental justice
  • Support excellence in digital marketing and technology to communicate with and strengthen our constituency
Requirements:
  • At least five years of experience at the executive level in leading a nonprofit organization or a comparable organization
  • A high level of integrity, the ability to find common ground, and keen interpersonal skills
  • Significant fundraising experience with demonstrated success
  • A sense of urgency about our mission and a sense of fun and excitement in doing the work
  • A firm commitment to equity, inclusivity, and environmental justice
