About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Reinsurance Consultant to join our team at RGA Reinsurance Company. As a Reinsurance Consultant, you will play a critical role in supporting various consulting client projects and working closely with senior consultants and other team members to ensure high-quality delivery of services to clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Plan, organize, and execute assigned business projects on behalf of clients and according to client requirements and business best practices.
  • Client Relationship Management: Identify and meet with key stakeholders and SMEs when needed to perform initial and ongoing assessments to establish project risks, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Business Analysis: Collect information about the client's business through various methods, including shadowing, interviews, surveys, and reading reports.
  • Reinsurance Expertise: Understand project management principles, reinsurance data, processes, and controls, including retention management practices, treaty setup, interpretation, and compliance.
  • Communication: Create and develop successful client relationships, articulate the benefits and technology related to TAI, and present findings and suggestions to clients with ample justification and practical advice.
  • Problem-Solving: Analyze and interpret data to unearth operational inefficiencies and issues, identify root causes, and formulate recommendations and solutions with attention to a client's needs, capabilities, and limitations.
  • Implementation: Implement solutions on behalf of internal and external clients, provide guidance for any occurring problems and issues, and integrate new clients, blocks of business, and new treaty arrangements into TAI's administrative platform.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: College or university degree or equivalent work experience, FLMI, ACS, or ARA designation from LOMA or working to achieve, 5+ years of overall insurance experience, and 2+ years of experience in a senior life insurance or reinsurance role.
  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of processes and issues impacting direct writers, reinsurers, and retrocessionaires, proven understanding of reinsurance administration and North American products, and ability to work effectively and build relationships with all levels of personnel, customers, suppliers, consultants - both internally and externally.
Preferred Qualifications
  • University Degree: University degree in computer science, actuarial science, finance, mathematics, or accounting.
  • Insurance Experience: 8+ years of insurance or reinsurance experience, thorough understanding of reinsurance business processes, and proven ability to work with large data sets and complex data flows.
