At Intact Financial Corporation, we're seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our actuarial workforce, you'll play a critical role in shaping the future of our company.

About the Role

We're looking for a seasoned actuary with a strong background in ratemaking, reinsurance, corporate planning, data science, reserving, and more. As an Actuarial Consultant, you'll work autonomously on challenging projects, lead large-scale actuarial initiatives, and contribute to business strategy discussions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the coaching and training of actuarial and analyst teams
  • Work on strategic projects in areas such as ratemaking, reinsurance, corporate planning, data science, and reserving
  • Lead large-scale actuarial projects and demonstrate leadership skills
  • Contribute to business strategy discussions and share your passion and vision
  • Provide guidance to colleagues through coaching, complex problem-solving, and technical reviews

Requirements

  • University degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance, or Economics
  • Certifications in Actuarial Science, ACAS, or FCAS preferred
  • 5+ years of actuarial experience, preferably in the P&C insurance sector
  • Strong knowledge of SAS, VBA, R, or Python
  • Desirable competencies: adaptability, innovation, analytical skills, decision-making, critical thinking, communication, planning, and team orientation
  • Bilingualism (French/English) required
  • Eligibility to work in Canada
