About the Role

CPP Investments is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst to join our Financial Analytics & Planning Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting the organization's operational strategy to align with financial objectives.

You will assist in implementing enterprise-wide key performance and/or operating indicators for specific cost categories, support the execution of departmental and project financial plans and forecasts, and independently execute month-end financial closing activities.

In this role, you will contribute to fostering a culture of continuous improvement to advance processes and reporting within the team. You will apply advanced analytics methods to understand cost drivers better and help ensure the completeness and accuracy of cost measurements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop, update, and maintain cost models, trends analysis, and dashboards through various tools (Oracle, SQL) to extract, manipulate, and understand data.
  2. Efficiently prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reporting and analysis for departments and initiatives (operating expenses and capital expenditures), with a mindset of continuous improvement and automation to increase operational efficiencies.
  3. Support the Finance Business Partners by partnering with all departments and Product Owners to produce annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  4. Support month-end financial closing activities, including reviewing accruals to ensure accurate financial results for departments and projects.
  5. Assist in the development and implementation of cost allocation methodologies and reporting.
  6. Contribute to system changes and upgrades by providing input into requirements and coordinating or executing user acceptance testing.
  7. Contribute to the development of cost governance documents, internal control policies, and procedures.
  8. Prepare documentation to support reviews conducted and demonstrate compliance with internal policies and procedures, financial controls, and reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience (3-5 years) in preparing budget, forecasts, and ex-post cost variance analysis, strong knowledge of asset management companies or financial institutions with a commercial approach to decision-making, and exemplify CPP Investments Guiding Principles of integrity, partnership, and high performance.

A competitive salary range for this position is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
