A Day in the Life of a Senior Financial Analyst

The Senior Financial Analyst plays a vital role in our overall forecasting and planning consolidation and internal financial reporting function, as well as technology financial management support. This position involves working closely with various stakeholders across the business to identify key actions, review P&L performance, and determine opportunities and risks.

The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to understand the big picture while focusing on details and continually seeking ways to improve processes. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively at various organizational levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting/consolidation of company performance and corporate submissions
  • Presenting monthly financial results and variance analysis to Finance leadership team
  • Coordinating with Accounting Operations and business units for month-end closing
  • Managing Technology Software Licenses and fees as well as 'Keep the lights on' labour costs management (forecasting, variance analysis, and month-end scorecards)
  • Monitoring trends in performance of business results and assisting with forecasting improvements and methodologies to provide insightful analysis
  • Creating detailed and flexible reporting that enables business partners to fully understand key drivers of business results
  • Communicating and framing forecasts and analysis to aid in decision-making by Senior Leadership
  • Assisting in streamlining the process of sharing financial information using MS tools to improve efficiencies
  • Frequent ad-hoc requests, reports, and analysis

Requirements:

  • 3+ years demonstrated experience in financial planning analysis/reporting with a focus on management reporting and being the liaison between the business and Finance
  • Post-Secondary Degree in a business-related field (Business Administration, Commerce, and Basic Accounting courses)
  • High degree of proficiency in MS Office Applications, most notably Excel and PowerPoint
  • Results-oriented – ability to prioritize and consistently deliver on time with high-level accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact at various organizational levels
  • Demonstrated ability to be analytical and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, both independently and collaboratively as part of a team Business Partnership an asset
  • Previous exposure to the financial services industry a definite asset
  • Familiarity with SharePoint, Power BI an asset

Compensation and Benefits:

Our compensation package includes an estimated annual salary range of $85,000-$110,000, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a generous retirement savings plan.
