Financial Reporting Analyst

Holt Renfrew is seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Financial Reporting department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our reported financial position and results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the monthly submission of financials, from data loading to financial reporting system completion, with thorough checks and balances to validate figures.
  • Prepare and distribute timely monthly management packs to executives and parent company.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly store operating results, maintaining and evaluating reporting efficacy.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual statutory financial statements in accordance with IFRS, including liaison with external audit teams and maintenance of accurate financial statement working papers.
  • Prepare quarterly financial statement packages for banking compliance.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial master data across all systems, including opening and closing of reporting periods, evaluating and obtaining approvals for new general ledger accounts and profit/cost centers.
  • Support the annual balance sheet and cash flow budgeting and forecasting process, obtaining information from stakeholders, evaluating for reasonableness, and consolidating results.
  • Support the planning and analysis team in interpreting financial results as necessary.
  • Develop new general accounting and financial reporting processes and systems.
  • Act as a reporting system super-user, maintaining system controls and mapping of data.
  • Prepare supplementary operational reports to assist management in evaluating results.
  • Monitor changes in financial reporting, accounting, and auditing standards, alerting management and quantifying potential impact.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field (business, accounting, commerce).
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA).
  • Minimum 3 years of post-university work experience, ideally with accounting firm experience.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of IFRS.
  • Proficient in SAP and Cognos.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity and change in a dynamic environment.
  • Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
  • Highly service-oriented with exceptional organization and follow-up skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Passionate about fashion and luxury retailing.
