Job SummaryWe are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team in a temporary full-time capacity. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for conducting a wide range of diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing, performing, interpreting, and releasing results, while ensuring the confidentiality of patient information.
Key Responsibilities- Conducting diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing
- Performing, interpreting, and releasing test results
- Ensuring patient confidentiality and data security
- Identifying incidents and non-conformities, participating in the development of effective corrective action plans
- Assisting with the evaluation and implementation of new technology
- Participating in problem-solving and workflow optimization
- College diploma or University degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent education and/or experience
- CMLTO registration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Good computer skills and knowledge
- Problem-solving skills and ability to identify and follow-up on issues
- Ability to maintain strict standards of safety, patient privacy, and confidentiality
- Recent Microbiology experience
- Knowledge of automated blood culture analyzers, Automated Identification and susceptibility analyzers
- Computer skills and ability to troubleshoot and provide corrective action to discordant results
