Payroll Professional for Salary Administration

Red Deer Polytechnic seeks a seasoned payroll professional to join our People & Culture Team. As a Payroll Officer, you will have opportunities to go beyond typical payroll processing and functions.
This is a permanent full-time position working 35 hours per week with paid vacation leave and benefit eligibility from day one. You will provide advice, information, and training to managers and supervisors around the application of multiple collective agreements as it relates to contract letters and salary administration.
The successful candidate will be responsible for employee contract submissions, ensuring accurate classification and position information in compliance with RDP Data Standards. They will also apply employment contracts, direct deposit, and statutory deductions to database for payroll processing.
Maintaining accurate payroll records, reports, documentation, and requirements is essential in this role. The Payroll Officer will complete audit and reconciliation of the payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.
This role involves research and testing to increase automation and efficiencies in payroll processing and data maintenance. Knowledge of Employment Standards Legislation, calculation rules for CPP/EI, Income Tax, and completion of government forms is required.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in Payroll, Human Resources, and Benefits is necessary. The Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation is preferred. The estimated salary for this position is between $55,000 and $75,000 annually.
