The Benefits and Payroll Administrator will be responsible for administering benefits and savings plans for our Canadian and US divisions, assisting with HRIS record maintenance and verifying payroll information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate and timely benefit administration, including enrolment, changes, reinstatements, and terminations.
  • Liaise with insurance providers to resolve specific issues and manage short-term and long-term disability claims.
  • Manage legislated and company-provided leaves, administer group benefit changes, and calculate monthly premiums payable.
  • Prepare remittances for insurers/providers, report, calculate, and remit Pension, Savings Plan, and ESPP contributions.
  • Perform monthly group benefit account reconciliation and assist the payroll team with Daily Rig and Downtime ticket review.
  • Verify payroll information submitted by departments and assist with employee new hire, rehire, and termination paperwork, as well as personnel file maintenance.
  • Provide excellent customer service and guidance on benefit and payroll-related issues through the Payroll Help Line and the Benefit Help Line.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in benefits and/or payroll administration, preferably in a multi-provincial environment.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field and experience with US benefit and savings plan administration considered an asset.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, effective problem-solving skills, and ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting, with flexibility to work weekends or general holidays when required.
