Director of Primary Health Care

Reporting to the Vice President Operations, the Director of Primary Health Care is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership to various professional healthcare disciplines in the Eastern Zone. This role involves overseeing the integration of health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management services, enabling Nova Scotia Health Authority to evolve towards a population health framework.
About YouWe are seeking a candidate with a strong background in healthcare leadership, preferably with a baccalaureate degree from a health discipline or health science field, and a master's degree in business administration or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience in a healthcare setting, with at least 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in management and administration. Key qualifications include experience in planning, coordinating, and evaluating primary healthcare initiatives, as well as demonstrated ability in business plan management, resource allocation, and budget preparation.
Key Responsibilities- Provide strategic and operational leadership to healthcare disciplines in the Eastern Zone
- Oversee the integration of health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management services
- Develop and implement business plans, resource allocation, and budget preparation
- Collaborate with family physicians and teams to build capacity
- Develop and sustain coalitions, alliances, and partnerships with healthcare sectors and external agencies
- Baccalaureate degree from a health discipline or health science field
- Masters' degree in business administration or a related field
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a healthcare setting
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in management and administration
