Senior Claims Specialist, Liability

Zurich Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Claims Specialist to join our team in Montreal. As a key member of our claims management team, you will be responsible for handling moderate to complex liability claims for large corporations, multinationals, and international insureds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and assess liability and coverage applicable to each loss
  • Investigate and litigate claims, negotiating settlements and managing litigation
  • Set and review reserves, controlling expenses and the claims life cycle
  • Document claims files, accurately capturing and updating claims developments and loss details
  • Develop case strategy, evaluate claims, and escalate issues as necessary
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 or more years of experience in Claims or Insurance
  • OR College Degree and 5 or more years of experience in Commercial claims handling
  • OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice, including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in Claims or Insurance
  • Business writing and presentation skills in both French and English
  • Proficiency with Office 365 productivity tools and apps
