**Job Overview:**

The Associate Vice President (AVP), Finance will provide strategic leadership and management of financial operations and reporting at KPU. This role requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record of innovative decision-making, budgeting expertise, and excellent communication skills.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic insight to assist in the development of annual and long-term operating and capital budgets;
  • Lead budget processes and work with budgets in the public sector;
  • Manage an investment portfolio and make informed decisions about cash flow projections and investments;
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and meaningful financial information is available for executive leadership and governing bodies;
  • Collaborate with teams to solve complex issues and achieve objectives;

**Requirements:**

  • Relevant graduate degree and Canadian professional accounting designation or equivalent combination of education and experience;
  • Minimum 12 years of finance experience, including 5 years senior and/or mid-level administrative experience in public sector finance and accounting;
  • Experience managing an investment portfolio and leading budget processes;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to draw valid conclusions quickly and effectively communicate them;
  • Excellent business acumen, interpersonal skills, and ability to build trust and effective working relationships;
  • Ability to travel between campuses and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines;
