Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at UBC Okanagan Child Care. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and nurturing environment for young children, promoting their physical, emotional, and cognitive development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Planning and Implementation
    • Develop and implement engaging and inclusive programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of children
    • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver high-quality programs that meet the needs of children and families
  • Child Care and Education
    • Provide high-quality care and education to children, ensuring their physical, emotional, and cognitive needs are met
    • Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues to ensure seamless transitions and a smooth program
    • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve program goals and objectives
  • Professional Development
    • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education
    • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote high-quality care and education
Requirements
  • Qualifications
    • Valid Early Childhood Educator certificate to practice in BC
    • High level of spoken and written English skills
    • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious relationships with children, families, and colleagues
    • Ability to use sound judgment, demonstrate patience, and be well-organized
    • Ability to adapt to high levels of noise and distractions from children
