Job Summary

This role is responsible for handling customer inquiries and serving as the on-property liaison for group sales within predefined peak room parameters for Property Sales. The Sales Executive will contract and close group business, conduct site inspections, and verify that business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for quality service delivery.

Candidate Profile

">

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED, with 4 years of experience in sales and marketing, guest services, front desk, or related professional areas. Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major, along with 2 years of experience in sales and marketing or a related field, is also acceptable.

Core Work Activities

The Sales Executive will be responsible for managing sales activities, including:

  • Handling customer inquiries and acting as the on-property liaison for group sales within the pre-defined peak room parameters for Property Sales.">
  • Achieving group revenue goals by responding to incoming group/catering opportunities for the property that are within the pre-defined peak room parameters.">
  • Understanding the overall market and selling against competitors' strengths and weaknesses.">
  • Closing the best opportunities for the property based on market conditions and property needs.">
  • Using negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.">
  • Achieving group revenue goals by actively up-selling each business opportunity to maximize revenue opportunity.">
  • Partnering with the sales team to identify new group/catering business and achieve personal and property revenue goals.">
  • Acting as the on-property liaison for group events over the Group Sales peak room parameters of the Sales Office.">
  • Developing group sales revenue and operation budgets, and providing forecasting reports.">
  • Working with the management team to create and implement a group sales/marketing plan addressing revenue, customers, and market.">
  • Assisting with selling, implementation, and follow-through of group sales promotions.">
  • Attending pre- and post-convention meetings to understand group needs, obtain feedback on quality of product, service levels, and overall satisfaction.">
  • Providing accurate, complete, and effective turnover to Event Management.">
  • Executing and supporting Marriott's Customer Service Standards and hotel's Brand Standards.">
  • Conducting site inspections, as required.">
  • Monitoring same day selling procedures to maximize room revenue and control hotel occupancy.">
  • Executing and supporting the operational aspects of business booked.">
  • Participating in and practicing daily service basics of the brand.">
  • Verifying that the property implements a seamless turnover from sales to operations and back to sales while consistently delivering high level of service.">
  • Monitoring the effective resolution of guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process.">

Building Successful Relationships

">

The Sales Executive will develop relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings through sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc. They will partner with Event Management and/or Operations to provide a customer experience that exceeds the customer's expectations.

Salary and Benefits

">

The estimated salary for this position is $71,000 to $101,000 annually. Marriott International offers a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive pay, comprehensive health insurance, retirement savings plans, and paid time off.
