Job Summary

We are seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to fill various Technical Junior Officer positions in Marine Engineering within the Canadian Coast Guard. As a Technical Junior Officer, you will play a key role in the planning, managing, and delivering of the regional fleet vessel maintenance and technical inspection program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage RFPs, TSORs, and SOWs for vessel maintenance and technical inspection programs
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with various stakeholders
  • Provide technical support and solutions to the national fleet
  • Contribute to technical investigations and quality management of the Vessel Maintenance Management program
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Occupational certificate and experience in Marine Engineering, such as a Fourth Class Marine Engineering certificate or an Engine-room Rating certificate
  • Experience working in a Marine Environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze issues, assess impacts, and develop options or solutions
Preferred Qualifications

Asset certificates and designations, such as Project Management diplomas or certifications, and experience working on marine equipment and systems in the marine environment are considered assets.
