Job Description

The Shop Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and safety of our fleet of heavy equipment. This includes diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and implementing preventative measures to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities:

  • Determine the extent of mechanical problems and perform repairs
  • Order required parts and maintain inventory
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts
  • Work safely and in accordance with industry standards
  • Perform other regular maintenance tasks as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a Heavy Equipment Mechanic Certification and have a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction equipment mechanics. Additional training certifications such as WHMIS, overhead crane operator, and forklift operator certification are assets. Strong knowledge of hydraulics and hydrostatic systems is also essential.
