About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Energy Solutions Development Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing innovative energy solutions to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

Under the guidance of our Chief Engineer, you will lead the development of projects that improve energy efficiency by responding to public or private tenders.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting equipment surveys in buildings
  • Performing energy audits
  • Calculating energy savings
  • Preparing financial reports (VAN)
  • Supervising external consultants

You will also work closely with our Market Development team to identify opportunities and present targeted solutions to clients.

How You Will Succeed

  • Lead the initial data collection and modeling efforts for assigned opportunities
  • Develop detailed project plans for large projects (> $5M)
  • Validate hypotheses formulated during solution design
  • Create detailed development budgets and scopes
  • Work with operations and external partners to develop project estimates and work scopes, as well as preliminary and detailed energy savings and financing models (ROI) for assigned projects
  • Assist in preparing proposals and other client-facing documents

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in design/sales of building systems, energy modeling, construction, or facility management
  • Relevant licenses or certifications (e.g., professional engineering license for engineering roles, CEM, LEED, CMVP, CBCP, etc.)
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French, with the ability to work in a client-facing environment
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project
  • Willingness to travel to Quebec, with occasional overnight stays
