About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cook with a passion for culinary excellence and customer service to lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, menu planning, and staff supervision. They will be responsible for overseeing the daily preparation and presentation of meals, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the kitchen team in preparing and serving meals that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents
  • Develop and implement menus that are nutritionally balanced and visually appealing
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure they are following proper food handling and preparation procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of food inventory, orders, and waste disposal
  • Ensure that all food safety regulations are followed and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
Requirements
  • Cooking certification (e.g., Red Seal) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or retirement setting
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
