Executive Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our team at Tigh Na Mara Seaside Spa Resort & Conference Centre. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards and presented in an appealing manner.
About the Role:
- Supervise a team of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers to ensure smooth day-to-day operations
- Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to optimize efficiency and minimize waste
- Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff to enhance skills and knowledge
- Create innovative menus that meet quality standards and cater to diverse customer preferences
- Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food to maintain consistency and excellence
- Prepare and cook complete meals and specialty foods for events, such as banquets, and special occasions
- Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to ensure adherence to safety protocols and high-quality standards
About You:
- Proven experience in a similar role with a focus on leadership, menu development, and team management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and supervise staff
- Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Familiarity with food safety protocols and certifications (e.g., Safe Food Handling certificate)
- Physical stamina to handle heavy loads, stand for extended periods, and perform tasks that require manual dexterity
What We Offer:
- A competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience
