Job Title: New Grad Program Software Engineer

Hydro One Networks Inc. is seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our New Grad development program as a Software Engineer in Operational Technology (OT) Operations. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the development of software systems that control Ontario's electric power system.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing technical OT skills, learning emerging technologies, and implementing modern technical solutions to issues within a dynamic team. They will also learn and implement DevOps principles relevant to software development, including CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Kanban.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop technical OT skills, including networking, data processing, security, SCADA, and power flow analysis.
  • Learn emerging technologies and implement modern technical solutions to issues within a dynamic team.
  • Learn and implement DevOps principles relevant to software development, including CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Kanban.
  • Support critical software systems for Ontario's electric power system.
  • Develop and maintain software tools, including SCADA systems and relevant protocols.
  • Support software system upgrades and networking and infrastructure.
  • Change management and software system security.
Requirements:
  • Must meet New Grad Program Eligibility Requirements.
  • A University undergraduate degree in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Software, Chemical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, or related field.
  • Previous Co-op/Internship experience in a relevant field and industry is considered an asset.
