Shop Service Lead

The Opportunity
As a key member of the Wajax team, the Lead Hand will work closely with shop service managers and administrative staff to provide support with the daily operations of the service shop. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who want to take a more active role in the day-to-day operations of a service shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in overseeing the day-to-day running of the shop and maintain a consistent workflow.
- Provide guidance and support to technicians and apprentices with troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Help train apprentices in proper work procedures and ensure they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
- Verify the quality of completed projects and ensure they meet the required standards.
- Foster a safe working environment and promote health and safety awareness through leadership and supervision.
- Ensure technicians are wearing and using the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform regular equipment and facility maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist technicians with diagnosis, job procedures, and requirements, and provide direction as needed.
- Provide regular updates to the shop service manager and assist with data collection for warranty recovery.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3-4 years of construction equipment repair experience.
- Education: Journeyman HET or equivalent experience.
