Human Resources Coordinator

The University of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented HR Coordinator to join its team. As a key member of the Human Resources department, the successful candidate will be responsible for the monthly and bi-weekly payroll function for administrative employees.
About the Role:
The HR Coordinator will provide interpretation, guidance, and oversight of the enrolment of academic and administrative employees in various University pension and benefit plans. They will maintain up-to-date knowledge of benefit and pension plans, act as a resource person for employees, and respond to a variety of benefit inquiries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll for administrative employees.
- Administer HRIS system, human resource/payroll documentation, attendance tracking, and data management.
- Provide timely and accurate HRIS reports to the Director, HR, and other stakeholders.
- Oversee the administration of employee, benefits, and payroll files, ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Work closely with the HR team to maintain confidentiality and contribute to process improvements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of HRIS experience using HRIS (SAP preferred) to process bi-weekly and monthly payroll.
- Minimum 3 years of experience administering HR processes, payroll, pensions, benefits, and attendance provisions of collective agreements.
- Experience generating statistical reports from HRIS, managing employee records, and working in a confidential setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Human Resources Professional, Payroll, and/or Benefits designation.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
