Job Overview

Renesas Electronics Corporation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Co-op Validation Engineer to join our team. As a Co-op Validation Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our digital logic products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Validate Digital Logic Functionality: Work with cutting-edge timing devices to validate the functionality of digital logic, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
  • Develop Automation Tests: Create Python automation tests for timing devices to catch corner cases, bugs, or stress test devices, ensuring that our products are thoroughly tested and validated.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work with various teams, including digital design and software teams, to debug devices and determine improvements for device drivers, ensuring that our products are optimized for performance and reliability.
  • Build and Maintain Device Drivers: Build on existing driver software to communicate with and manipulate internal digital logic, ensuring that our products are compatible with a wide range of devices and systems.
  • Prepare and Review Documentation: Prepare and review documentation to ensure that our products are properly documented and that our teams have the information they need to succeed.
Requirements
  • Education: Working towards a degree in electrical engineering, electronics, or a related field.
  • Programming Experience: Python programming experience or programming concept knowledge.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to problem-solve and seek knowledge when presented with unknown concepts.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Some knowledge of analog and DC circuit design, knowledge of lab equipment, and knowledge of serial communications.
  • Additional Skills: Soldering skills are a plus, but not necessary for day-to-day operations.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to communicate issues concisely and effectively.
