Job Description

The Project Coordinator is a key role in our organization, responsible for assisting the Senior Project Manager or Project Manager in the monitoring and controlling of project activities. This includes ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the project team with coordination, reporting, and ongoing communication to stakeholders
  • Support the project team in achieving program objectives and delivering projects within agreed-upon scope, cost, and time parameters
  • Direct and control projects, including defining, monitoring, and controlling project scope, cost, schedule, quality, risk, and resources
  • Support the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, tendering, evaluations, and contract award processes
  • Administer, support, and direct design consultants and contractors in accordance with contract documents
  • Review and recommend invoices for payment of contracts administered
  • Track deliverables and lead quality assurance
  • Monitor and report on project progress and present reports to stakeholders
  • Implement and manage change when necessary to meet project outputs
  • Evaluate and assess the results of projects
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., project management, engineering, architecture)
  • A minimum of 3 years of progressively challenging project management experience in planning, design, and construction support and coordination of large commercial and/or institutional buildings and/or civic works
  • Experience assisting the Senior Project Manager or Project Manager in the development and construction of infrastructure projects
  • Project Management certification or registration with the Project Management Institute (PMI) is an asset
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management, and/or change management
  • Proficiency in project management information system (PMIS) software is an asset
  • Management of infrastructure projects in Nunavut is an asset
