Category Merchandising Manager

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Category Merchandising Manager to join our team at Canadian Tire Corporation. As a key member of our merchandising team, you will be responsible for delivering financial plans for our merchandising categories through the development and execution of assortment, pricing, and promotional plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business plans and initiatives that achieve financial performance and operational targets
- Act as the subject-matter expert for the Kitchen category, providing guidance and support to the team
- Support assortment analysis and development on SKU lines, ensuring adherence to predefined CTR strategy objectives and guidelines
- Plan, execute, and deliver line review process, including approval of assortment and pricing plans, import trip planning, and vendor relationship management
- Recommend action plans for item discontinuation and pricing, and define and execute against categorical promotional plans
- Provide content for store education on product and process education, ensuring adherence to CTR promotional and pricing strategies
- Develop, mentor, guide, and coach Category Business Analysts by setting clear performance objectives and providing ongoing and timely feedback
Requirements
- 5 years of Category Management experience and/or progressive growth in a relevant cross-functional role
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business plans and initiatives that achieve financial performance and operational targets
- Strong business acumen skills, including expertise in retail marketing, consumer trends, and inventory management
- Absolute commitment to delivering consumer-focused initiatives, with superior innovation management skills
- Strong people management skills, with demonstrated ability to develop others
- Superior leadership skills and presence, with a highly developed sense of accountability, passion, and track record for delivering results
- Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade key stakeholders
- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
- Ability to travel 2-4 weeks per year
