The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Maple Leaf Foods. As a key member of our Health and Safety team, you will play a critical role in assisting in the development, implementation, and maintenance of our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of safe work procedures and training programs to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and investigations to identify and mitigate health and safety risks and hazards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of health and safety metrics and training programs.
  • Design and deliver training programs for workers, management, and Safety Committee members to promote a culture of health and safety.
  • Support the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) in scheduling meetings and ensuring workplace inspections are completed.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in health and safety or a related field.
  • Knowledge of health and safety laws and legislation.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • 1-3 years of experience in health and safety.
