The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for managing, planning, coordinating, and directing health and safety activities across our manufacturing, transportation, distribution, and field service sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of sustainable management strategies to achieve our health and safety management system objectives.
- Facilitate incident investigation and root cause analysis activities to reduce risk and improve performance.
- Promote the use of individual risk assessment methodologies to increase awareness of personal safety factors.
- Mentor and coach leadership in the use of techniques and employee-centered involvement initiatives to ensure a safe work environment.
- Implement corporate standards regarding health and safety.
- Provide leadership and direction to employees to shape a world-class safety culture.
- Provide training to employees in the use of HSE tools and Safe Days Process.
- Participate in business improvement activities, teambuilding workshops, and special working groups to continually improve performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Safety Management, Engineering, Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of health and safety experience in a chemical manufacturing, processing, or field service industry involving chemical handling.
- 2+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
- 5+ years of demonstrated management/safety skills in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of demonstrated experience in Process Safety Management.
- Ability to travel ~50% throughout Eastern Canada.
- Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player.
