Health and Safety Administrator

The Health and Safety Administrator will be responsible for promoting, coordinating, and implementing activities to improve and maintain high levels of safety performance at T BELL TRANSPORT. This role will act as a resource for employees, advocating for company policies, procedures, and programs. The successful candidate will also assist with daily administrative duties, including processing paperwork, filing, and handling driver inquiries.
Key Responsibilities- Safety Orientation and Training: Develop and implement safety training programs for employees, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify, assess, and mitigate health and safety risks in the workplace, ensuring a safe and healthy work environment.
- Incident Reporting and Investigation: Investigate and document all safety incidents and injuries, providing recommendations to prevent re-occurrences.
- Site Inspections and Compliance: Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, making recommendations for improvements.
- Administrative Support: Provide administrative support, including processing paperwork, filing, and handling driver inquiries.
- Communication and Liaison: Liaise with employees, management, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration on safety-related matters.
- Education and Experience: 5+ years of experience in an occupational health and safety role, preferably in the natural resources industry.
- Knowledge and Skills: Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and regulations, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, Return to Work, WSIB, Human Rights Code, AODA, and WHMIS.
- Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and maintain a professional demeanor.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer software and systems, including Microsoft Office and other relevant tools.
