Ware Malcomb is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead our Science and Technology design studio in Vaughan. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the successful management of projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and exceptional client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in life sciences project management, with a proven track record of overseeing complex projects involving pharmaceutical, biotech, R&D laboratories, and manufacturing environments. You will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, coordinating with consultants, and ensuring compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Project planning, scheduling, and coordination
  • Leading consultant teams and coordinating contract documents
  • Ensuring budget adherence and financial management
  • Providing construction services, including site visits and review of shop drawings
  • Assembling consultant teams and facilitating contracts
  • Coordinating with Ware Malcomb consultants to achieve complete and coordinated contract documents
  • Ensuring compliance with municipal, provincial, and federal building and fire codes
  • Communicating with clients, brokers, contractors, consultants, and team members
  • Mentoring and developing junior staff
  • Acting as a design resource for national and international offices
  • Supporting internal QA/QC and project coordination

Requirements include:

  • 8+ years of experience in life science or relevant science and technology projects
  • Demonstrated lab planning experience
  • Experience overseeing the full life cycle of an S&T project
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes and regulations
  • Experience designing wet and dry laboratories, and clean rooms
  • Hazardous material containment and control area knowledge
  • GMP and FDA regulatory understanding
  • Experience with Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and Deltek Vantagepoint
  • Proven ability to manage schedule and budget for multiple projects
