Account Manager I Job Description

Marsh is a global leader in insurance broking and risk management, serving clients in over 130 countries. Our team of experts helps clients anticipate, quantify, and understand the range of risks they face in today's complex business environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare financial statements and working paper files in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reconcile cash and investment accounts, and prepare bank deposits and cash disbursements.
  • Plan and complete annual audits for clients, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare regulatory filings and maintain ongoing compliance with domicile captive insurance regulations.
  • Track and reconcile claims activity, and maintain client files in accordance with Marsh's standard filing system.
  • Provide exceptional client service, maintaining regular contact and addressing client needs as required.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned by management, and monitor and document team and client activities to prevent and detect problems.
Requirements:
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, with a focus on financial statement preparation and regulatory compliance.
  • Accounting designation (CPA, ACA, ACCA) or equivalent.
  • Experience working with a client portfolio requiring multiple deadlines, with excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external clients.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Relevant captive experience, with a focus on life insurance companies and Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP).
  • 3+ years of experience working with or within a life insurance company, with a strong understanding of US regulatory requirements.
